Best methods for storing fresh herbs

Storing fresh herbs can be tricky, but there are some effective methods to keep them vibrant and flavorful for longer. One popular approach is placing them in a glass of water like a bouquet, covering them loosely with a plastic bag, and setting them in the fridge. This method helps maintain their moisture while preventing wilting.

Another option is to chop the herbs and freeze them in ice cube trays with olive oil. This not only preserves their taste but also makes it easy to add them to dishes later. Have you tried either of these methods, or do you have your own techniques for keeping herbs fresh? What works best for you?

I’ve definitely tried the glass of water method, and it works great for leafy herbs like basil. Freezing them in oil is super handy too, especially for adding to sauces later. I also love wrapping them in a damp paper towel and then putting them in a bag in the fridge; it really helps with keeping them fresh for a while!

I usually just wrap my herbs in a damp paper towel and store them in a ziplock bag, which keeps them fresh for quite a while. Have you ever tried that? It’s super easy and doesn’t take up much space!
